Reading a number on SaveAgri
Every figure on the site is printed with 2 things beside it: the date it was read, and a link to the page it was read from. Follow the link and you land on the board, the notice or the rate sheet the figure came from.
If a table is empty, the source had nothing for that day and we did not fill the gap. If a page says it is a prototype, the rows on it are demo records for testing, not real offers.
What each section does
Prices
Mandi prices are the reported rates from mandis across India, searchable by crop and district. Around them sit the support price for the season, export values from customs data, the GI premium, milk, egg, broiler and livestock rates, and the input side: seed, fertiliser, machinery, diesel and land guideline value.
The price forecast is a range for the weeks ahead. It is a model output, not a promise, and it prints its own confidence.
Finance
The scheme directory lists every published government scheme for farmers. The eligibility checker asks a few questions once and shows which schemes may fit you. It is guidance built from published rules, not an official decision, so confirm with the department before you apply.
The same shape applies to loans, insurance and scholarships: a directory, then a checker.
Plan my season
Put in your area, your expected yield, the price you think you will get and what the crop will cost you, and the planner shows the cost, the revenue and the profit or loss. The climate pages sit beside it, so you can check rainfall, reservoir levels and groundwater before you commit to a crop that needs water.
Inspect
Describe the symptoms or upload a photo and the tool lists what may be wrong, with a likelihood against each one. It is not a confirmed diagnosis. Use it to narrow the question down, then reach a verified agronomist or vet from the expert directory.
Mart
Post your harvest, your machine, your animals or your land, and buyers contact you through the site. You need an account to post a listing or send an enquiry, because a listing with nobody behind it is worth nothing to a buyer.
SaveAgri does not take a cut and does not handle your money. You deal with the buyer directly.
Community
Ask a question in the farmer forum and other farmers answer it. Market days near you sit under events, and you can add a market day that is missing. The news list carries stories from named publishers with the point for farmers on top, and links back to the publisher.
Questions readers ask
Do I need an account?
No, not to read anything. Prices, schemes, weather, news and every tool are open. You need an account only to post a listing on Mart, send an enquiry, or take part in the forum.
The price on this page does not match my mandi. Why?
Mandi boards report at different times and not every mandi reports every day. The date beside the figure tells you when it was read. If the gap is large or the figure looks plainly wrong, tell us through the contact page and we will check the source.
How often is the data read?
It depends on the source. Mandi prices change daily, fertiliser MRP changes a few times a year, and land guideline value changes rarely. Every source and its reading schedule is listed on the data sources page.
Can I use SaveAgri in my language?
Yes. Use the translate control in the header to switch between English, Tamil, Hindi, Telugu and Kannada. Numbers, dates and source names stay as they were published.
Can I reuse the data?
The underlying figures belong to the boards and departments that published them, and you should credit and link to them. For research or teaching use, write to us at data@saveagri.org and tell us what you need.
Someone is asking me for a fee. Is that you?
No. SaveAgri never charges a fee for a job, a scheme or a loan application, and nobody from SaveAgri will ever ask you for an OTP or a bank detail. Report it to us and stop talking to them.
