That is 81 kg of nitrogen, 24 kg of phosphorus and 121 kg of potassium on 1 acre of Banana. DAP already carries part of the nitrogen, so the urea figure is what is left after that is counted.

Worth knowing
- Get a free Soil Health Card from your nearest soil testing laboratory or Krishi Vigyan Kendra. The government pays for the test.
- A card is valid for about 3 years, or 2 crop cycles. After that the numbers have moved.
- These doses are a starting point from the state package of practices, adjusted for what your card says. Your extension officer knows your block better than any table does.
- Split nitrogen across the season rather than applying it all at sowing. Most of a single dose is lost before the crop can use it.
