Land guideline value

The value the government uses to register a land sale, village by village, with the date each revision took effect.

This is a legal administrative value, not a market price. It is what stamp duty is calculated on, and in most districts it sits well below what land actually changes hands for. Never use it to decide what your land is worth.

No revision has been collected yet. These are published state by state and only when a revision is issued, so this page fills in one state at a time rather than all at once.

How to read this

  • A guideline value is the floor for registering a sale. Registering below it attracts scrutiny, registering above it is allowed.
  • It is revised on its own schedule, not annually and not everywhere at once. An old date means the value is still in force.
  • Per acre and per square foot are both used, and they are never converted into each other here. Check the unit column every time.
  • Wet land, dry land and residential land in the same village carry different values, which is what the classification column is.
  • What a buyer will pay is a separate question this page cannot answer.
