How much more a GI tagged variety fetched than the ordinary variety of the same crop, in the same market, on the same day.
This is a computed indicator, not a rate. No authority anywhere in India fixes a GI premium. Every figure below is worked out from mandi prices already on this site, and it changes as those prices change.Nothing clears the bar today. A premium is published only when the tagged variety and an ordinary variety of the same crop were both priced in the same market on at least 5 separate days. Until that happens the honest answer is no figure.

How this is worked out
- Same market and same day, always. Comparing 2 markets measures the distance between them, not the tag.
- Only rows priced per quintal are used, so a per kilogram row cannot multiply the gap by 100.
- The middle price is used, never the average, so one festival lot cannot set the premium.
- Fewer than 5 matched market days means nothing is published for that crop.
- The window is the last 90 days. Today it rests on 2,726 mandi rows.
