Read my soil card

The Soil Health Card is free and you probably have one. What it does not tell you is how many bags that means for your field. This does.

Get a free Soil Health Card from your nearest soil testing laboratory or Krishi Vigyan Kendra. The government pays for the test.
A card is valid for about 3 years, or 2 crop cycles. After that the numbers have moved.
These doses are a starting point from the state package of practices, adjusted for what your card says. Your extension officer knows your block better than any table does.
Split nitrogen across the season rather than applying it all at sowing. Most of a single dose is lost before the crop can use it.
