Land development machinery hire

The Agricultural Engineering Department hires out machinery for land shaping, levelling and deep ploughing at subsidised hourly rates — for example a tractor at ₹265 per hour and a bulldozer at ₹670 per hour. All categories of farmers may use it.

Who is not eligible

Machinery availability depends on the district fleet and season; bookings are served in turn.

Documents needed

  • Aadhaar card
  • Land record (chitta and adangal)
  • Bank account passbook
  • Passport size photograph

Deadline

Bookings are taken through the year at the block Agricultural Engineering office, subject to machinery availability.

How to apply

  1. Apply at the block or district Agricultural Engineering Department office, or through the department's online portal.
  2. Wait for the work order or approval before starting the work or buying anything.
  3. After completion, submit the bills and completion certificate; the subsidy is credited to your bank account.

If rejected

  1. Ask the block office whether the district target for the year was already exhausted.
  2. Correct any land-record mismatch and re-apply when the next window opens.
  3. Ask whether a smaller or different unit under the same scheme can be sanctioned.
