The Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana”” is a complex component of the National Mission of Sustainable Agriculture’s Soil Health Management (SHM) initiative (NMSA). PKVY promotes organic farming through the cluster-based organic village plan and PGS certification. Under the Paraparagat Kishi Vikas Yojana, the government will provide financial support for organic agriculture in the amount of 50,000 per hectare over three years.
The Plan intends for Commercial organic production to be encouraged through certified organic farming. Of this amount, $31,000 per acre will be set up for organic fertilisers, pesticides, seeds, etc. Rs 8800 would be made available for distribution and value-added activities. The produce won’t have any pesticide residue, benefiting consumer health. The growth in farm revenue will create new opportunities for traders. The increase in farm revenue will create new opportunities for traders. To provide inputs, farmers would be urged to mobilise natural resources.
